The Judith Chime Championship is set to enter a new phase in its development, Judith Chime Foundation is ready to align, partner and collaborate with the oldest Youth Sports body, Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) for the 2026 edition, bringing together two initiatives with a shared commitment to youth development, talent discovery and the growth of football in Nigeria.
The partnership is expected to add a new dimension to the championship while strengthening its grassroots pathway and exposure for young female footballers.
At the heart of the championship is Dr. Mrs. Judith Chime, a former Super Falcons goalkeeper whose post-playing career has increasingly focused on creating opportunities for the next generation of footballers, particularly goalkeepers and young female talents.
Having represented Nigeria as a goalkeeper, Chime understands the demands of elite football and the importance of early development. Her work has subsequently moved beyond playing the game to creating platforms where young players can gain competitive experience, visibility and opportunities to progress.
One of her most notable initiatives has been the Judith Chime Goalkeeping Weekly Award, which has provided recognition and financial support to goalkeepers competing in the Nigeria Women's Football League.
