Two Will Fall: Osun Babes, Sunshine Queens, Dannaz, Delta & Ahudiyannem Face Brutal NWFL Fate

The battle for survival in the NWFL Premiership has reached boiling point, and while the Super Six race is settled, the real tension now lives at the bottom, especially in Group B.

With Confluence Queens already relegated, two more teams must join them. Four clubs, Osun Babes, Dannaz Ladies, Ahudiyannem Queens, and Sunshine Queens head into the final day knowing that survival is no longer in their hands alone.

The table paints a brutal picture:

5th: Ahudiyannem Queens – 22 pts

6th: Delta Queens – 22 pts (just above danger)

7th: Dannaz Ladies – 20 pts

8th: Sunshine Queens – 19 pts

9th: Osun Babes – 18 pts

10th: Confluence Queens – 14 pts (relegated)

Only two of these four embattled sides will survive.

Osun Babes are walking the tightrope. With just 18 points and a poor goal difference, they sit deep in the danger zone.

Their final clash against Delta Queens is nothing short of a must-win and even that might not be enough.

What they need:

A win vs Delta Queens

Favorable results elsewhere (especially Sunshine and Dannaz dropping points)

Anything less than victory almost certainly sends them down. Their defensive struggles this season have cost them dearly, and now they need their best 90 minutes of the campaign away from home.

Dannaz Ladies are slightly better positioned with 20 points, but they are far from safe.

They face Remo Stars Ladies, a side still competitive and dangerous.

What they need:

A win guarantees survival

A draw could be enough, depending on other results

A loss could be fatal if Sunshine or Osun win

Their poor goal difference (-14) is a major concern, it means they likely lose any tie-break scenario. For Dannaz, it’s simple: don’t leave it to permutations, win.

At 22 points, Ahudiyannem Queens might look relatively comfortable, but they are not safe.

They take on Abia Angels in a tricky away fixture.

What they need:

A win secures safety

A draw likely keeps them up

A loss opens the door for Dannaz and Sunshine

Their goal difference (+4) gives them an edge over the chasing pack, but complacency could be costly. Lose, and they could be dragged into the drop depending on other results.

Sunshine Queens sit on 19 points and face already-relegated Confluence Queens. On paper, this is the most favorable fixture among the four.

What they need:

A win could lift them to safety

A draw may not be enough

A loss would almost certainly relegate them

This is their golden opportunity but also a potential trap. Facing a relegated side can be unpredictable, especially one playing with nothing to lose.

The Stakes

2 teams will survive

2 teams will join Confluence Queens in relegation

Goal difference, head-to-head dynamics, and nerves will all play a role. Every goal scored or conceded could decide a club’s fate.

This is what makes the NWFL special drama until the very last whistle.

For Osun Babes, it’s desperation.

For Dannaz Ladies, it’s control under pressure.

For Ahudiyannem Queens and Delta Queens,  it’s about avoiding a collapse.

For Sunshine Queens, it’s a shot at redemption.

By full-time on the final day, dreams will either be preserved or shattered.

One thing is certain: there will be heartbreak.
