The race in the Nigeria Women Football League Premiership took another dramatic twist on Matchday 11, with late goals, crucial away wins, and major shifts in both the Super Six race and the relegation battle.
But the biggest headline of the weekend belongs to Osun Babes FC, whose struggles deepened after a heavy defeat pushed them into the relegation zone in Group B.
In Aba, Ahudiyannem Queens delivered a commanding 3–0 victory over Osun Babes, a result that could prove decisive in the survival race.
A brace from Grace Aaron and a goal from Nwabueze Charles ensured all three points for the home side, lifting Ahudiyannem Queens off the bottom of the table.
For Osun Babes, however, the defeat sees them drop to 10th place in Group B, firmly inside the relegation zone with just 9 points from 11 matches, and a growing goal deficit that reflects their difficult campaign.
The situation in Group B is now turning into a fierce survival fight.
Teams like Dannaz Ladies FC, Confluence Queens, and Ahudiyannem Queens are all battling to avoid the drop, with only a few points separating multiple clubs.
Osun Babes now find themselves under intense pressure, as every remaining fixture becomes a must-win if they are to escape relegation.
While Group B remains open, the story in Group A looks far more bleak for the bottom sides.
Pacesetter Queens and Naija Ratels FC appear dead and buried, both stuck on 5 points after 10 matches.
With a massive points gap separating them from safety, the chances of survival are fading fast, and only a dramatic turnaround in the remaining fixtures can keep their hopes alive.
At the top end of the table, the race for Super Six qualification is heating up.
In Group A, Rivers Angels FC continue to set the pace, maintaining top spot with another solid away win. Close behind are Edo Queens FC and Bayelsa Queens FC, forming a strong top three that are beginning to pull away from the chasing pack.
In Group B, FC Robo Queens remain leaders despite being held to a draw, while Nasarawa Amazons FC strengthened their position with a dramatic late win over Dannaz Ladies.
Remo Stars Ladies also remain firmly in the top three despite being held to a draw, keeping their Super Six hopes intact.
Elsewhere, Rivers Angels secured a comfortable 2–0 win over Naija Ratels, while Edo Queens edged Heartland Queens 1–0 to maintain pressure at the top.
In Lafia, Nasarawa Amazons snatched a last-minute winner against Dannaz Ladies, while Confluence Queens held league leaders Robo Queens to a 1–1 draw.
There were also draws between Sunshine Queens and Delta Queens, Abia Angels and Remo Stars Ladies, and a dramatic late equalizer for Pacesetter Queens against Ibom Angels.
With the league entering its decisive phase, the gap between success and failure is becoming increasingly narrow.
For the top teams, every point edges them closer to the Super Six. For those at the bottom, especially Osun Babes, the reality is stark fight now or face relegation.
Matchday 11 has not just reshaped the table, it has raised the stakes across the entire NWFL Premiership.
