The Ogun State football coaching community is entering a defining moment as the Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA), Ogun State Chapter officially begins the final march toward its much-anticipated state election.
With the election timetable already released by the State Electoral Committee, attention has now shifted to Screening Day, a critical hurdle that will determine which aspirants are cleared to contest for leadership positions.
The Electoral Committee has confirmed February 19, 2026, as the official screening day, scheduled to begin promptly at 10:00am at the M.K.O. Abiola Sports Arena, Kuto.
This screening exercise is expected to separate serious contenders from casual aspirants, as all contestants are required to appear in person with complete documentation. According to the committee, no incomplete submission or lateness will be tolerated, stressing that screening is a non-negotiable requirement for participation in the election.
Following the screening, the focus will move to Election Day, fixed for February 25, 2026, at 11:00am, inside the FA’s Conference Room, M.K.O. Abiola Sports Arena, Kuto.
Only duly screened and cleared candidates, alongside accredited delegates whose councils have settled their membership dues, will participate in the voting process.
This election is more than a change of leadership; it represents a chance for Ogun State coaches to redefine their professional direction, welfare, and development pathway within Nigerian football.
As screening day approaches, the message from the Electoral Committee is clear:
“Come prepared, come early, and come qualified.”
All eyes are now on February 19, where ambition meets verification and February 25, when Ogun NFCA will decide its next set of leaders.
