The Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership served up another thrilling round of action on Matchday Seven, with goals raining across centres, title contenders making strong statements, and pressure mounting on teams struggling for consistency. From emphatic wins to late equalisers and narrow defeats, the week seven fixtures once again underlined the competitiveness of the 2025/26 season.
The biggest headline of the matchday came from Port Harcourt, where Rivers Angels delivered a commanding 5–0 victory over Heartland Queens. Forward Ramotalahi Kareem was in devastating form, completing a brilliant hat-trick, while Abasiofon Uwah added a brace to cap a dominant display. The win not only boosted Rivers Angels’ goal difference but also sent a clear warning to their rivals as the season gathers momentum.
In Makwada, Bayelsa Queens showed their attacking quality with a convincing 4–1 away win against Adamawa Queens. Goals from Blessing Ilivieda, Janet Akekeromowei, and a brace by Kindness Ifeanyi highlighted Bayelsa’s efficiency going forward. Despite Omoh Afensemi’s equaliser for Adamawa, Bayelsa Queens took full control and left with all three points.
At the Onikan Stadium in Lagos, Dannaz Ladies claimed a hard-fought 2–1 win over Ahudiyannem Queens. Goals from Amarachi Anusillem and a late strike by Adewunmi Akintola sealed the victory, cancelling out Chizaram Onyenze’s equaliser. The result marked an important confidence boost for Dannaz as they continue to steady their campaign.
In Ikenne, Remo Stars Ladies recorded a narrow but significant 1–0 victory over FC Robo Queens, thanks to Cynthia Mega’s second-half goal. The result disrupted Robo Queens’ rhythm and highlighted Remo Stars’ growing resilience at home, and end FC Robo Queens 6 matches unbeaten run.
Confluence Queens were moments away from a vital win against Nasarawa Amazons before Omotoke Ogunfuwa’s 88th-minute equaliser rescued a 1–1 draw for the Amazons. Seember Emmanuel’s early opener had put Confluence ahead, but the late twist ensured the points were shared.
In Asaba, Delta Queens fell 1–0 at home to Abia Angels, a result that further deepened the club’s struggles and added to the pressure around the team.
Edo Queens secured a 2–1 home win over Pacesetter Queens, with goals from Saidat Adeniyi and Doosuur Atume.
Ibom Angels edged Ekiti Queens 2–1 in Uyo, as late drama saw Wami Georgeline grab the winner.
Osun Babes and Sunshine Queens played out a goalless draw in Ile-Ogbo, with both sides cancelling each other out in a cagey encounter.
Matchday Seven reinforced the league’s growing intensity. Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens emerged as the standout performers, while tight margins across other fixtures showed how competitive the NWFL Premiership has become. As teams begin to separate themselves in the standings, every point now carries extra weight.
With momentum building and pressure mounting, the race for supremacy and survival promises even more drama in the coming weeks.
