NWFL Premiership Matchday Two Roundup: Robo Queens Shine, Late Goals Steal the Headlines Across Nine Centres

The 2025/26 NWFL Premiership Matchday Two served fans another exciting midweek of top-quality women’s football, featuring dominant home wins, hard-fought draws, late drama, and tight finishes across all nine match centres. From Lagos to Ado-Ekiti, teams battled for early-season momentum as the league continued to take shape.

FC Robo Queens delivered the biggest win of Matchday Two with a commanding 4–0 victory over Confluence Queens.

Goals from Favour Nkwocha (27’ penalty) and Tosin Rafiu (40’) set the tone before Kemi Adegbuyi capped the performance with a quickfire brace in the 54th and 56th minutes. Robo were dominant from start to finish, controlling midfield battles and creating chances at will.

The victory places the Lagos side among the early title contenders with back-to-back strong performances.

In Port Harcourt, Rivers Angels secured their first win of the season with a hard-earned 1–0 triumph over Naija Ratels.

The breakthrough came in the 55th minute through Sharon Onwere. Ratels fought hard but could not find the cutting edge in the final third.

In Lagos, Dannaz Ladies and Nasarawa Amazons played out a cagey 0–0 draw, with both sides cancelling each other out in midfield. It was one of the most disciplined defensive performances of the round, as chances came sparingly. While Dannaz Ladies goalkeeper Jimoh Selimot denial the visitors multiple open goal scoring chances.

At the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Edo Queens earned their first win of the campaign with a 1–0 victory over Heartland Queens.

The decisive moment came early, with Atume Doosuur firing home in the 15th minute. Edo managed the game well afterward, denying Heartland any real opportunities to get back into the match.

In Uyo, Ibom Angels defeated Pacesetter Queens 1–0, thanks to an 87th-minute winner from Helen Daniel. The game looked set to end goalless until Daniel punished a defensive lapse with a composed finish.

Another late drama unfolded in Ile-Ogbo where Osun Babes beat Ahudiyannem Queens 1–0.

Nofisat Tijani kept her nerve from the penalty spot in the 87th minute to hand the Omoluabi Queens all three points.

Remo Stars Ladies earned a narrow but deserved 1–0 home win over Abia Angels in Ikenne. The lone goal came early through Aisha Animashaun (25’).

Remo’s compact defending was once again key, as they protected their lead for over an hour.

In Asaba, Delta Queens and Sunshine Queens played out a 0–0 draw, with both teams failing to convert their few half-chances. The result keeps both sides steady in mid-table.

The most dramatic finish of the round came in Ado-Ekiti where Ekiti Queens held Adamawa Queens to a 1–1 draw.

Adamawa took the lead through Mary Sunday (55’) and looked set for a crucial away win until a late twist saw Favour Godwin turn the ball into her own net in the 90+2 minute, sparking celebration among the home fans.

Ekiti Queens also  fail to covert a last minutes penalty which should have earn them all 3 points
