Nigeria’s Amputee Football Team announced their intent in emphatic fashion as they overpowered Benin Republic 11–0 in the opening match of the 1st West African Para Games on Friday in Abeokuta.
The explosive fixture, held at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, saw Nigeria dominate from start to finish, showcasing superior skill, energy, and tactical discipline.
From the opening whistle, Nigeria took control of the match, pressing high and keeping the Beninese defence under constant pressure.
The team struck five goals in the first half, setting the tone for what became a completely one-sided contest.
Nigeria returned from the break even sharper.
Six additional goals followed in the second period as the team pushed relentlessly until the final whistle bringing the tally to 11 goals, one of their biggest margins in recent years.
The home crowd in Abeokuta played their part, cheering loudly with every goal and applauding the team’s effort.
Their support created a vibrant atmosphere inside the arena and added extra motivation for the players.
