The MAPOLY AMACOS Pen Cup 2025 isn’t just a football tournament it’s a campus wide battle of pride, hierarchy, and bragging rights. With four classes HND2, HND1, ND2, and ND1, clashing in a single round league format, the air at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic is heavy with anticipation, chants, and class rivalry.
And make no mistake: this year’s edition has moved beyond football. It’s about who deserves the spotlight. It’s about who controls the narrative in AMACOS. It’s about seniors defending their reputation and juniors proving that respect is earned, not inherited.

The tournament kicked off on July 9, and from the first whistle, it was clear: no class came to play nice.
๐ Match 1: HND2 0 – 0 ND1
The final-year HND2 students were expected to dominate ND1 with ease, but the juniors had a point to prove. ND1 held their ground and refused to be intimidated, ending the game in a tough, tactical goalless draw. The result sent a message: the juniors didn’t come to clap; they came to compete.
๐ Match 2: HND1 3 – 2 ND2
HND1 took early control of the league with a gritty 3–2 win over ND2. Despite a brave fight and two goals from ND2, the seniors’ experience proved too much in the end. It was a thrilling five-goal match that lit up the MAPOLY Sports Complex and showed fans this would be no ordinary tournament.
๐ฅ Matchday 2: Juniors Strike, Seniors Fall
If Matchday 1 was a warning, Matchday 2 was an explosion.
๐ ND1 1 – 0 ND2
ND1 returned to the field full of belief and confidence, and they delivered. A single first-half goal was all they needed to seal three points against their seniors, ND2. With that win, ND1 not only stayed unbeaten but also silenced doubters who thought they’d be walkovers.
๐ HND2 2 – 0 HND1
The most shocking result of the tournament so far came in this clash of the titans. HND2, the most senior class, dominated and humbled HND1 with a clinical 2–0 win.
Goal 1: A rocket volley from just outside the box from HND2 midfielder buried at the top right corner of the post open the scoring.
Goal 2: A defensive error saw HND1’s keeper fail to clear a poor backpass, leading to an embarrassing own goal.
It was more than just goals it was a power shift. HND2 reminded everyone that final year means final authority on and off the pitch.

The last match of the round-robin league, ND2 vs HND2, is set for Friday, July 11, and the tension is sky-high.
If HND2 win, they secure top spot in the league and campus glory.
If ND2 pull an upset, they may open a dramatic door for HND1 or ND1 to leapfrog, depending on goal difference.
With ND2 fighting to restore pride and HND2 trying to cement senior dominance, the final match promises to be a showdown of wills, not just skills.
In AMACOS, class hierarchy is everything. HND2 is the face of final-year power. HND1 are rising leaders. ND2 are confident and proud. ND1 are loud, hungry, and fearless. The Pen Cup is where all of that clashes, loudly, physically, and passionately.
This tournament is where reputations are made, class pride is tested, and student unity is built through fierce competition.
Whether you’re a Mass Comm student or just a lover of grassroots football, one thing is clear, the AMACOS Pen Cup 2025 is unmissable.
Each class isn’t just fighting for 3 points, they’re fighting for respect, class dominance, and the right to chant the loudest in the hallway when it’s all over.
With drums beating, chants echoing, and boots clashing, this isn’t just football.
This is war. And it’s beautiful.
